Hello everyone (if anyone) It has been a very long time since I posted anything on here, but it is not because I have lost my love for blogging. Domestic Rockstar, was an outlet for me. When I started that blog I was going through a really rough time, Since then I feel like I have outgrown this blog. Not that I don't want to be a "Domestic Rockstar" but it's not so important for me to be the perfect Housewifey. I still love to cook, and decorate my house, but I still have a lot of my own endeavors to seek out before I am ready to settle down!
I was dealing with a lot of drama in my life and didn't want my blog to be too emo-riffic so it was easier to let it go,( just like I have done with all the baggage that was weighing me down back then) but PLEASE please please, visit my new blog http://loveandevol.blogspot.com/. Thank you to all of those who were there for me and I hope you will move with me to Love and Evol.
xoxo Brittany
Julia Child's Potages Recipe
The other day I attempted to make a recipe by Julia Child with every expectation to fail. There are two very good reasons I did not expect it to turn it. 1. Some of it is in French 2. Some of the ingredients I didn't even have a clue as to what they were, like leeks...who the hell knows what that is...and even if I did I don't think I would eat them. Much to my surprise the soup turned out great!! As of tonight I've made it 3 times. According to my roommate and bf it is not just good to my taste buds. Here is my (Simple) version:
Six cups of water
2 cups of heavy cream
2-3 cloves of garlic
VEGGIES! (You can use whatever veggies you like) Carrots, peas, celery, corn
Red Potatoes (peeled)
1/2 cup of butter
Bullion cubes (as needed) or Vegeta
Pinch of pepper
1. Melt butter in a frying pan
2. Put six cups of water in a large pot and turn heat on high
3. Chop vegtables and season water with buillion cubes or vegeta
4. Add cream, garlic, pepper to pan with butter turn heat to med and let heat for 8-10 mins. Do not let cream mixture come to a boil.
5. Pour cream mixture into pot with vegtables and mix well ( I like to add some fresh basil to cream but not mandatory for recipe!
6. Serve and enjoy!
There are variations of this recipe. I love to make it at the end of the week with all my veggy leftovers. You can also add sausage and bacon to make it more like Olive gardens Zuppa Tuscana soup!

EXTENSIONSSS!!
I have been working on growing my hair out for some time now but it just doesn't seem to grow fast enough. Just like a woman always wanting more...never rich enough, tan enough, hair is never long enough. Unless you are like one of those creepy women who never cut their hair.... anyway...my baby sister just got extensions done for her prom look at the difference!!
There a ton of different styles of extensions clip in, weaves, braids. It is an ausome way to reinvent your look. Sometimes when I go out I like to look a little funky but I don't want crazy colors in my hair for work. This picture below I have fire red clip in extensions they are 100% human hair, I can wash them straighten them or curl them!!
I've been doing research on extension because I want to buy some for my
photoshoots and promo work. I came across a site that even has extensions for babies! The pic is a little blurry. I took it from http://www.hairextensionguide.com/news.htm#BabyExtensions That is funny...
Raybans-Wayfarer
Raybans, wayfarer style made their first appearance on none other than Audrey Hepburn herself. They became very popular in the 1950's through the 60's. Today many celebrities are sporting this style, from Kristin Stewart to Kate Moss. I wonder in the future what they will say the "style" of the sunglasses for '10's (2010's) was. The wayfarers are popular but I still see a lot of oversized Jackie-O style and aviators... what Do you think your children will say about our style? Most likely they will say we are not a very creative generation..

High-waisted Shorts and Rompers
I love waking up and walking barefoot to the mail box in my summer jammies (aka boxers and shirt with no bra) and feeling the warmth of the day beginning. As excited as I am about summer being here I am more excited about high-waisted shorts and the cute rompers (also known as jumpsuits!) I keep seeing them everywhere. Lauren Conrad (above) looks so relaxed yet dressy in her high waisted shorts and fergie looks like she just got back from rocking a lual. LOVE IT. Can't wait to post when I find some deals on these two items!
Vegetarian?
Vegetarian? what? Who me? No....I'm def. not a pyscho tree hugging hippie who says save the whales, kill the babies...ok maybe that was a little extreme.... It's just that I'm not really one of those kind of girls who is a fanatic animal rights activist...or is into sacrificing normality to save mother earth. I love make-up, and hairspray and all kinds of glittery things that aren't really great for the green-hood of the planet....However, I have converted to the dark side. I am a newlyveg. (ha ha get it newlywed) ok that was corny. Any way I read an exerpt from the book Mad Cowboy by Howard Lyman...which sparked my interest and really made me do some research, and BELIEVE me, for a girl like me to stop eating meat and use (90%) organic products, something has to be Wrong... So what is so horrible that would make a regular prima donna like me change her ways?? Your going to want to read this.
"Sure, I used to enjoy my steaks as much as the next guy," writes Lyman. "But if you knew what I know about what goes into them and what they can do to you, you'd probably be a vegetarian like me."
Cattle ranchers turned cows into cannibals. It remains legal to feed cows "rendered" -- dead and ground up-- parts of certain animals, including the blood of other cows.
(FYI cows are HERBIVORES)
In an effort to prevent disease, Howard lyman, like other ranchers, fed his cows antibiotics even before they became ill.
A former cattle rancher-turned-vegetarian and food safety activist, in 1996, Lyman revealed, to a national television audience, how the cattle industry potentially exposed Americans to mad cowboy by feeding cows the remains of live animals - including other cows. As a result of his remarks, Lyman was named a co-defendant with Oprah Winfrey in the infamous "veggie Libel" case brought by Texas ranchers in Amarillo.
To increase their profits, ranchers also routinely fed growth hormones to cattle within two weeks of their slaughter, despite a government ban on the practice.
He sprayed his feedlot with insecticides which would then fall into the cattle's food and water -- and eventually become part of someone's dinner. Ranchers relentlessly used growth hormones, particularly DES, which they stockpiled when it was banned.
Soo in short, cattle and dairy farmers use tons of chemicals, antiobiotics, horomones, insecticide, and pesticide. These chemicals are ingested or taken in through the animals skin, all eventually ending up in the hamburger we eat for dinner. These chemicals are supposedly regulated by the "FDA". That is kind of like having a restaurant owner do health inspections on his own restaurant. Of course the farmers are protected when the FDA has interest in the meat industry. The government make billions of dollars a year simply off the advertisement of meat! Maybe your not ready to convert but hopefully this post will help you be more aware of the meat you are eating!
MAKEUP... An exciting career
I"M BACK! It has been sooo... long. Long story short, My Romanian took the job, they put us up in a hotel for 3 MONTHS. It was a lovely GHETTOazz hotel. We are finally in a house in Hermitage Tn, right on the outskirts of Nashville. The house we found is really neat, and it has a fenced back yard for tiga...who as you can see, is no longer a tiny pup.
I am soo glad to be back to blogging I have missed you guys! But I crossmyhearthopetodie (but def not sticking a needle in my eye..) That I will blog more often!! Anyway....update on the job status I know I promised to shell the info on my new career. Currently I have been working as a promotional model and working on a portfolio to become a MAKE-UP ARTIST.
Moving sparked the perfect opporunity for me to make an EXCITING, career instead of the same ole' blah 9-5 job. There are lots of open doors in Nashville for me to work with country celebrities(even if I have to start out small) theater and even local weddings.
